Today we went to the caderayta and did outreach. We made the people and kids tostadas! We took the Granger group which is around 40 people. We also worked on the church roof doing electric tubing. We ran most of the conduit for the electric and marked where lights fans and outlits will be. We also worked on bending and forming rebar for beems. It was a hot day of 104 and the sun was beating down on that roof. It was an eye opener to see the whole area of houses from above. It is just crazy to see the poverty and the way people live. I am too lucky!!! But to see God in the eyes of the people is something amazing!!!
Great day!!

"I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. "

Today we went to Rio 3 with Jim and Betty. we did alot of clean up in the back building, so we can start taking it down to expand the clinic! The steps we poured look great and the floor in the farthest room is finished. We walked around alot today in the neighborhood. We brought a bed to a family across the river. As we went inside the home, my heart dropped. no walls, partial roof, 6 kids, no shoes 1 bed, dirt floor. Someone always lurking to steal things, so they have to stay to watch the stuff. I was devastated at what I saw. Never have I ever been invited into a home at one of these places, and I am glad to have the opportunity to see it today. As much shock as I was in I could feel Christ presence in the place. The hospitality as the lady rushed to clear of a chair and put a towel over it so I wouldn't get dirty. Her passion for the ministry and Love for her kids and the people around her. The thankfulness for a twin bed for her kids to sleep on. I have a full size bed at home, and I complain when it is to lumpy or , ha, not big enough. I should be lucky to have a bed, let alone a roof that covers my head and a floor to support me. I spend most of my life on the "necessities" and not enough on what God truly wants for us. I don't always need my cell phone, or my nice comfy pillow, or the nice cool AC. Shelter being our theme, is not a physical thing, but a spiritual thing. The shelter that God gives us just to follow him. His Love and passion to bring us into eternity with him, and the fact that he got up there and died for us. he was tortured, beaten, abused, crused and killed....for us. So that we can have life with him, and live in the shelter of his Holy name. Today we gave them a bed,..I felt like I would rather stay and build a roof over there heads. but to see there hearts full of Christ and to know he is working in there home, was more than any material thing they could ever want.

This evening a Jay Tyler Courtney and I drove out to the big bat cave. each evening over a billion bats fly out of an old mining cave. I have heard it is soo cool. well we got there and waited...and waited..and they never flew out. I think we may have got there to late. haha. But as we waited it got darker, and we realized how clear the sky was, and how dark it was. we laid out and just gazed at the stars for a couple hours. It is soo fantastic what God has created and the opportunity he gave us to see it tonight. We saw a shooting star, and we think about 20 satalites, or UFOs. May be aliens not sure...haha. It was great to relax in the peace of the night and pray, thanking God for all he has done. As this summer is quickly coming to an end, I am finding that I am trusting in Gods plan more and more each day. I have to and realizing that things happen in his time is critcal. It is tough, but knowing that life is so much better with him is amazing!

Adam

"Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn. "Lift up your eyes and look about you: All assemble and come to you; your sons come from afar, and your daughters are carried on the arm. Then you will look and be radiant, your heart will throb and swell with joy; the wealth on the seas will be brought to you, to you the riches of the nations will come.
No longer will violence be heard in your land, nor ruin or destruction within your borders, but you will call your walls Salvation and your gates Praise. The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. Your sun will never set again, and your moon will wane no more; the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your days of sorrow will end. Then will all your people be righteous and they will possess the land forever. They are the shoot I have planted, the work of my hands, for the display of my splendor. The least of you will become a thousand, the smallest a mighty nation. I am the LORD; in its time I will do this swiftly."

Happy Birthday Grandma Geiger!!! Love you!! Today we went to ERJ and did the ropes course. It was a great hot day!! haha. Luckily we were in the shade of the trees most of the day!! The group had a great time and they really connected together! Most of them did the leap of faith, where I was in the tree helping them up!! It was a little freeky at first, I am just not a big heights man!! haha. I like my feet on the ground! But each day I fid God challenging me with something new! This morning the water pump on the Girls house went out. The house on the property next door is where the girl interns stay. But the family still lives on the 2nd floor. so when the water or electric goes out the whole house is out. The family is in Mexico city for a while except for the wife. She had no clue what was the problem. The house runs on a pump well system, where there is a pump that brings water into a well and then another pump that brings water to the house. The pump going to the house was out and no electric. Maricio and I worked on it this morning for a couple hours and fixed the electrical, which lead to the switch being messed up, and the tankto full. So after a crazy time trying to epty half a 3000 gallon tank we finnally got the pump working again. Unfortunatly since the swicth is bad the water may come of and on untill we get a new switch!! Although hectic, I learned alot of pluming and electric today and it was great to trust God in teaching me and in helping us solve the problem. What challanges will you bring Tomorrow God!!!!!

Happy Birthday Mom!!! 25 years!! haha. Today 3 new groups came. Granger community church is huge so we split them into two groups. so it is actually 4 groups. We have a total of about 80 group members this week! We had a pool party with MdA, VdJ, and Bethesda today!!! The kids had a blast swimming and the groups had fun!!!! Vita cooked Tacos for everyone. It was a lot of Tacos haha. very good though!!! I think I have actually gained weight down here Vita feeds us soo well!! haha. This morning we did alot of prep for the groups. I did some electrical work in the girls dorm where a couple of lights went bad. I checked all the transformers and changed a couple. One of the big lights was a pain. I had no light, just a dinky flashlight, and I was having all kinds of problems. I changed the transformer and it didnt work, I thought I switched a Wire and that didnt work so I switched it back, Its Mexico so the color of the wire never means it it is the hot or white. ahhh it was driving me nuts. So after about 30 min, I Finally figured out that I replaced the wrong transformer. Ugh!! It was crazy!! It was a great challenge though and it was good to see how it applies to my life. That getting frustrated never solves the problems, and that when I relaxed and trusted God, my answer came and I was able to fix it. I think that alot of times I struggle with not receiving an answer from God, but when I say I am relax or that I truly trust him, I am just telling my self that so I can get an answer. But he is way to clever!!! He is a God that is nothing like us humans. Thats why hes God and I am clueless haha. What I am really trying to say is that really showing God you trust him takes more than Just telling yourself you do and and trying to make yourself believe. I find that when I am truly patient, which is not easy for me, that I find God revealing many things, but it is with full faith and confidence that his word is what is truly best for me. I can truly say that I trust God in whatever he brings to me. I struggle with this many times, just because it is that true Faith that takes us to God, and as humans we are all sinful. Thats just the nature we are. But we have a God that forgives us, and Loves us no matter what or who we are. That trusting him is radical! But....Thats what God wants. Trusting in him and becoming a better me because of it. Whether times are rough, things dont go the way you want, you dont get a Job, a part in the play, an internship, or when a transformer just wont work, or when God seems like the farthest thing from Life, hes there, and trusting him is just as easy as checking to see if you changed the right transformer. I find I struggle many times by this, but it is reminding myself and continuing to pray for Gods guidance in not just some of my life, but in every decision I make. I challenge you as I challenge my self in fully trusting that what God has in store for us is fully his plan and that even when we feel it makes no complete sense, or just truly sucks, he is eternal and what he has for us is far greater than we could ever imagine!

Today Tim shaun darren and I went to Chapinque and climbed up one of the mountains to a weather tower. It was about 8 miles uphill!! We had soo much fun and it was great to set such a high goal and reach it!! It was a huge challenge for me to do it and It was soo releiveing to get to the top!! I am soooo wooped right now though!! haha. we had a great time just talking and hanging out. Some parts were extremly steep, and it was great to see how we help each other succede. There were times when I thought I wasnt gonna make it, but I woul pray and trust God, and out of no where I would get this feeling of comfort and streangth! I learned alot of things today about my own inner,..and physical streaghths, but it was great to she how I grew spiritually! I applied alot of the challenge I had today to my life and saw how God has helped me and or can help me succede my goals and succede in become closing to him. Trusting him is number 1 in everything!!! Thanks for an awesome day God!!
Tonight we had a mexican buffet here on campus. They cook the food right in front of you and you just keep eating!!! We salsa danced all night! It was crazing and my legs were already tired!! haha. We all had a blast and it was great to hang out with everyone!!! I am going to sleep very well tonight!! Tomorrow 4 groups come!!!!!!

"Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed? He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,... and by his wounds we are healed.

This week since we only have one group, the interns are just going out with the captains to do work. This morning some of us went to MdA, with greg. We usually leave around 10 or 10:30 with a group. this morning we left at 8;30, and got there early to work. We finished building concrete forms for a wall behind the dorms. Wwe started to mix concrete around 1 and notice that all the sand for the concrete mix was gone. One of the masons used it all, and the concrete mix we were making was just water mix and rock. It was soo bad! nothing was holding together. So we went to see if we could get sand, and all three stores we went to had sand but were closed! So we decided to order it, and we packed up and went to carls Jr, hardees. Since we had the traile we parked a couple buildings down. Wwhen we got out of the suburban, we heard air, and noticed the passenger side trailer tire was flat! Wwe didnt have a spare so we called Todd and he dropped one of with a jack while we were eating. We tried one jack and it didnt work. Wwe found another one in the car, and it broke. Hydrolic fluid squirted out! We were in a bind. Wwe looked up and saw we were parked next to a Midis. funny thing! haha. We went in and asked the guy for a jack and e came and helped us. After we got the tire back on we thanked the guy and prayed with him. Wwe got in thae car all ready and the suburban wouldnt start!!!!!!! Ahhhh. so we went and asked the to help us again. he laughed and was glad to help. We charged the battery and got a jump. Wwe never got the guys name, and he would accept a tip!! He was such a nice guy, God must have sent him cause he knew we would need help!! Although it was a hecktic day, God was truly present and helped us get through!!

Adam

"O LORD, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O LORD. You hem me in—behind and before you have laid your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me, even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake, I am still with you. If only you would slay the wicked, O God! Away from me, you bloodthirsty men! They speak of you with evil intent; your adversaries misuse your name. Do I not hate those who hate you, O LORD, and abhor those who rise up against you? I have nothing but hatred for them; I count them my enemies. Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting."

For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. Today we had just one group come. It is going to be a calmer week. haha. The interns are going to be focusing on our captain areas with the staff captains. I am looking forward to it. Gabo and is going over the plans with me about the caderayta roof. Wwe are going to poor it week 8. It is a lot of concrete and he is a lttle worried the groups might not be up to it!!! I think it is going to go pretty well though!! We had the del norte and IdA kids here today for a pool party. It started to poor down rain, and thunderstorm, and parts of the campus and palapa flooded. We needed the rain but it put a kink in our plans for the day. however it is Flexico, and we got around it. Vita made chicken and mashed potatos, it lighted up the day!! haha. The kids still had a blast and Juanita is such a cutie. Dante is such a chubster to!! He is getting sqirmy and wanting to walk. Such a cutie though!! Tonight we had a 2 and a half our basketball game. It was great just the staff and a couple group members. It was a lot of fun!

Today we went to Rayitos de Luz. Uncle mike dad and I worked on digging footer holes for a new dorm we are starting to build for the kids! Lots of digging and moving dirt!! Lynn was going to help dig Lee but she decided to rake instead haha. We were dumping the dirt on the other side of the property to level out the area. I made sure we sent lots of sticks and rocks in the dirt to Lynn just for you Lee haha!!! Mom was pushing wheelbarrows of dirt back and forth. We had to make sure there were exactly 12 shovels full of dirt because if there were any more it was way to heavy haha! We had an inflatable there in the afternoon, so the group and kids had fun. We sprayed water on it and the kids had a blast! It was like a mini water park. Brian Bertke jumped in with them, and got soaked! It was funny but the kids had so much fun drenching him!!! I had just as much fun watching !!! ha. We came back and had a good dinner. Tonight was the staff vs groups Basketball game. We have a game every wed night. We have been doing great, but tonight the groups were good. They won by several points. I only go in during the beginning, because the actually need to score points sometime. I is unbelievable how bad I am!! I just stick to digging holes haha!!

This evening I got an email from Fr. Steve, Pastor at SJN, that Tommy Jesters mom, Karen Jester, past away Monday evening. I talked to Tommy tonight and they are still unaware of the cause. They are having a very rough time with everything. The service is Friday and visitation is tomorrow. I ask if you could all please keep the Jesters, especially Mr. Jester, in your hearts and prayers!! I feel very helpless right now, but I know that the strongest thing we can all do to help them is to pray that God heals there hearts, and to accept that what ever his will is, we will follow him no matter what!!

I was pouring the buckets into the stair form, and uncle mike and dad were up top helping me handing me buckets of concrete. It was a hot day and I think we poured about 300 buckets. We had to mix it by hand today!! It was even more exciting!! haha. We also poured part of a floor in a room as well!! Lynn and mom helped mix concrete and play with kids. The kids had a blast!! Uncle mike and lynn gave them candy and they loved it. Mom passed out braclets! We had a great day!! But we are all exhuasted. lots of concrete haha.

July 8

Today I went shopping for the market. Every thursday we have a little market here on campus that the groups can get authentic Mexican things. It was a fun day, we went to all kinds of little shops, and there is an area we found that is up temporally and has a bunch of bargain shops. We got a tone of great deals on things!!! I went with one of the other interns Emily and Katie and Rene Gonzalez. Rene is the Music director at Nuevo Pacto, which is where the staff go to church. Katie and Rene both work for B2B, and just got married last year! Katie works with the groups, and also runs the market here on campus.
The rain stopped over night, and the sun came up this morning. It brought the heat with it haha. It was 104 today!!!! Great day though!!
This evening I went to church at Douglas, and then all the guys went to discipleship with Greg. It was a really good time to connect with the Lord. Right now I feel like God is really convicting me with alot of things on what I should do with my Life. and I am not sure what the next step He wants me to take is. I want this decision to be Gods decision and not mine though. I trust in his will for me, and I know that what ever he has instill for my heart will be great. Could you please pray for this for me? I have truly seen the power of prayer work right before my eyes. It is amazing what God can do, and it is soo amazing what he does, because he Loves us!
Thanks!

They had fun pushing Kurt Mike and I in the pool a million times! We had the blow up rides again today and the kids loved them. One of them you attach the hose to and it is like a water slide. The bottom fills up with water and the kids slide down into it!! It looked pretty fun!! It started raining around 3pm, and hasn't stopped. It will be interesting to see how much rain we get! Our well is finally filling up!!! It is nice!! haha

Today we had Church at Douglas in the morning!!! Then we went to Del Norte! We got soo much done today it was great. I was working 2 projects at once, digging more holes and digging out the old playground equipment. Wwe had a bunch of people so it made it nice and easy to be able to float back and forth between projects and check how things were going. the holes are almost done, no worries dad haha!! We have three almost done and one last one to start. The playground equipment is really old, and welded together which makes it crazy to get apart. It is also cemented into the ground, so we were jackhemmer for a good portion of the day, I am still shacking up and down haha. We are clearing the area for the new play ground, and Gabo and I started laying out the design and marking it today!! There is a tower like structure already there, so we are going to build two more and make an L shape. The old one will connect with the middle new one by a suspending bridge, an then the last tower L'ed from the 2nd with be connected by a tube. On the last Tower we are going to put a big spiril tube slide. I told Gabo we had one at home dad, so if you cold pack the big yellow one in your suitcase that would be great!! haha. jk. We sealed the rest of the back fence wall, and also sealed and thermoteced the Library roof as well! It was soo hot today that the sealant on the roof dried in 45 min. It was crazy. The high today reached 107 degrees, and didnt let up till about 8 this evening in which it droped to 102, and finally now about 99. We got to play with the kids for a short time, I had to leave with Gabo to unload things, but I got some good pictures of the area we are clearing for the playset, and some of the kids. I love it when they nape, it is soo cute!!! Juanita is soo peacefull! Cutie!! One of the babies there is Dante, and he never stops smiling, I just want to eat him up!!!

Great day!!!!

Happy 4th of July everyone!!!! Day late now haha. Hope everyone had an awesome holiday! I missed the fireworks and party, and everyone!!!! I missed the food toooooo!!!!! haha. Today we had 3 groups come! It was a little less crazy as last week. the groups seem very excited and we had a great cook out and pool party with the kids from MdA and VdA. I gave a tour of the property for a group today. My first tour all summer. I dont think I did to shabby!! ha. We did a lot of transition maintenance this morning, and cleaned a couple dorms that look like a garbage truck crashed!!! haha. It wasn't that bad, there were just some bugs cause food was left out. Emily and I made it sparkly pine sol fresh!! Tonight after worship I went out with Steve for discipleship! It was great we went to a coffee house. We are studying John, and it is such a great book! Tonight we were talking about the light of Christ, and being reborn in Christ. Accepting Christ and his Love for us!! We always ask each other what we can pray for the other one each week, and tonight he asked me to pray for his wife's family, especially her brother. I am not going to tell the whole story out of his privacy, but I ask you to please help me pray this week for Steve and his wife and her family!!! The power of prayer is soo incredible, and I thank you for helping!!!!
