Today was crazy!!!! This morning we went to Del Norte and worked for a couple hours! Wwe dug more holes, and pulled the wood form off the roof of the library. The group we were with brough a soccer ball and T- Shirt for each kid. We lined them up and when we called there name we cheered for them! They had such a blast!!! I was sitting with Juanita and Sarahi at lunch, and they kept wanting there picture taken. I was going to delete most of them, but they are soo stinkin cute!!!!! We brought them Ice Cream today and Juanita decided to drink it and get it all over her face!!!! haha. There is a little girl named Astalia that was just dropped of a couple weeks ago. Here older sister has been at del norte for a couple years already though. She is soo cute, but soo sad. She keeps talking about and asking about her "mamma and papa". It just breaks my heart to see her soo sad and crying.
This afternoon we ahd all the Childrens homes come to the property and we had a huge worship service with all of them, and gave them dinner!!! They had soo much fun. We did a blind folded ice cream eating contest. Most of it ended up in there laps, but it was so much fun, and hilarious to watch!!! Although today was crazy, you could truly tell that Christ was here today, and made this day special for each and every kid! It was soo cool to see every child that we serve all here at once!!!!!

We talked about shelter, and Christ's shelter for us! and also about Job, loosing everything he had, and how his faith in God stood strong. They didnt have many opinions about it, but I am hoping that the Lord will change that throughout the week. Please pray for Christ leadership through me this week with the guys!!

Today we went to the Caderayta and fed the kids and people!!! We grilled over 200 hot dogs and made salsa! The kids were sooo happy, and hungry!! Pastor Angle, pronounced Aunhil, had a church service around 3, and a bunch of the people came! One of the ladies was soo filled with the Holy Spirit!! It was great, to see them all praising God!!!!! Next week we our going to pour the roof on the church. It is a blessing to be able to do that. Last year the funding kinda stopped, and we were unable to do alot of work. it will be awesome for the pastor and the church to finally have a roof over there heads!!!!!

We went to Pollo Loco tonight!!!!!! Sooooo good after a long day of work!!! During worship tonight we notice that there were sparks and smoke in the air. We look down the other side of the property and there was a fire across the street, on another property! The flames were high and under a huge power line. We ran over to help, and there was an entire field on fire at the Char Coal factory across the street. The gate was Locked and we say a guy with a small hose and another guy in a lawn chair! we asked what was going on, and they said it was under control, haha. Not!!! The flames were reaching the power lines quickly, which run over our property. We quickly pulled hoses out and buckets, and ladders, and started spraying water over the wall. It did nothing. Finally the guys opened the gate, and we rushed in with like 2 miles worth of hose. We got in contained before it his the trees, and put it out before the flames hit the power lines.

We talked to the char coal guys, and he said that he dropped his Cigarette! Wow, haha. It was eventful!! I was covered in Black, and very smelly haha. Next time there is a fire, just call the Back2Back 611 fire Crew!!! haha.

Today was a crazy day!!!! haha. We started at 9 am when 4 of our children's homes came. We had the medical team here, who donated all there time, and had over 100 kids checked, and did dental work on most of them! With so many kids here, it was a blast and a mess at the same time, but an organized mess haha. The kids did soo great!!! I got to see little Julio today, my buddy from Monetiel de Amor, so we got to hang out!!! I hung out with little Alex today too!! he is such a cute, but full of energy and spunk for a 1 year old!!!! haha. We made them all hot dogs for Lunch, and then when the groups started coming around 3 we had a pool party with two of the homes. We grilled cheeseburgers for dinner, and had nachos and Jalapenos. The kids had such a blast!!!! A group also donated a days rental for a couple blow up ride kinda things!! It help the time at the doctors pass for the kids!! They had soo much fun!!

Believe it or not, the group that my parents came down with last year, is here this week!! It was great to see them, and catch up!!! They also brought 200 pairs of brand new shoes with them for the homes!!!! It was great to be able to get a donation like that!!!! I cant imagine what the airport security guy was thinking when 25 bags of shoes rolled through haha!!!! I am excited for another week!!! It is supposed to be a hot one!!!

Today the groups left, and we had our upcoming week meeting! The rest of the day we kinda had off, so I did lots of laundry haha. We are in the process of rebuilding the chapel at CHD, so Jim Betcher, one of the staff and I are working on a dedication video for the presentation of the chapel on July 1. We worked on that today!!!! Tonight we went to the lake down the street, and rode on one of the double decker boats! The lake is huge and it was great to hang out, and do a little salsa dancing. I didnt look very good haha. It reminded me of us Victoria. haha. It was a blast though!!! We ate subway for dinner, I know very Mexcanish food haha, but it was cheep and good at the same time!!!! We went to Wwal-mart for a little shopping after the lake. I am all stocked up on Gaterade for the week haha. Tomorrow 3 groups come, about 60 people. It is a smaller week, but Tomorrow is our busiest day. Saturdays are always busy, but tom especially. We are having 4 Casa Hogars, Childrens Homes, come for a medical check up. We have a couple nurses, a doctor and a dentist to check the kids out in our clinic!! It is going to be an exciting day!!!! and also a memorable day!!! The opportunitys created tom, will support the kids for there life. Most of them already have a medical history documented with B2B, so it will be easy and amazing for the kids to just have a normal check up!!! I cant wait!!!

Today I went to Del Norte with Gabo! It was a great day! I got to see Juanita and Oscar. We dug more footer holes for the wall on the other side now. It is like de za voo from last summer haha. 4x3, and 4 foot deep. While we dug holes Gabo workrd on the Library. They are getting ready to poor the roof, so they worked on the wood frame. we got to hang out with the kids for a couple hours today! Junaita and I did a puzzle, and we colored a Dora picture!!! Oscar got in one of the lunch bins, he is hilarious!! I pulled him around! He had a blast. Del Norte has 8 babys now, and not enough people to hold them. It is so sad. You just want to love on them all day, and it is so sad when you have to leave them at the end of the day. Little Dante is only 7 months old, and is such a Joy. He has always got a smile o his face, and is such a cute. Gaby is 5 weeks old, and is soo small, but soo cute.
The group we brought there today brought puppets and did a puppet show in spanish for the kids! they loved it. Worship was great tonight!!! The groups head home tomorrow, and week 2 comes quickly to an end!!! It is soo amazing to see how the Lord works in the hearts of the groups, and it is great to see them leave with there hearts full of him!!
I thought that it would be easy for me to get closer to God down here. It is but it is something that has been a challenge for me. I think that God planned it that way. When I pray he tells me he wants me to be closer to him. He just left out that I would really have to work hard. haha It has been great to strengthen my walk with God, and although God throws in challenges here and there, I know that I shouldnt get discouraged in my walk. He does things so that I can learn, and to streangthen me to be a better person in Him!!!! Thank You God!!!!!!

June 17

Today we went to Douglas in the morning and made cards for the kids while they were at school. We put them on there beds with some candy, so that they were surprised when they got home. In the afternoon we took all the younger kids from Douglas to Kidzania. I know it sounds a little weird, but it was probably the most awesome place for a kid. It is literally a little city. If you can think of anything that would be in a city, it is in there. They have a fire station, a hospital, a barber shop, a police station, a paint store, a cell phone store, a McDonald's, a Dominoes, a wal-mart, a disco club, and soo much. Everything is real, from the food to the fire truck that drives around. Everything is miniature. The kids get a fake check, and they have to go to the bank and cash it. Then they can use the money to buy things, or get food, but when they run out of money, they can work and make more. The can make cakes, paint, be a fire man, police man or EMS man. They can be a gas pump person, a barber, a painter, construction worker, window washer, news reporter, shoe shiner. all to make money. it really teaches the kids alot of things. The ambulance, and fire truck are real little cars, and the kids ride in the back. Each job has a little outfit they wear. the kids are sooo cute. The ambulance will go pick up sick people, and the fire man go put out the fire, obviously haha. But the have a building that starts on fire, fake but cool, and then the kids use hoses with actual water to put it out. it is awesome!!!! I want to be a kid again soo bad!! haha the kids had such a blast and it was great to see them smiling all day!!!

Today I went back to Meme's Rio, and we fed the kids and people lunch! we made hot dogs for them, and cut up water melon. The kids love the water Melon. We did queit a few projects there today. A couple people from the group worked on digging a trench for the new bathrooms. I worked on a water jug system for the neighborhood. Right now there is one hose of water for 50 houses. the water coming into house 1, Meme's house, has no pressure at all. You can imagine what it is like at house 50, mostly no water. the water doesn't actually hook up to anything, it is just a spiket out in front of there house that they tap into. Today I had a couple of the group members help me out, we made a platform for this big water Jug, kinda like at the Caterayta. and their is two jugs, right now just one, but the top filters into the bottom, so that the bottom is completely clean water. the goal for this system is took hook the bottom jug up to Meme's house and the soup kitchen, and then the top jug to the community. The jug holds 250 gallons of water and we figured that each family uses about 5 gallons a day. The jug system, with a foot of water, gives 10 times more pressure than the hose. The tank is about 5 foot tall. It will be so much better when we get it hooked up. and the meter hose will just connect the big tank and constantly be filling it up. It creates a reservoir for the community, and will fill up completely in just a couple hours!. For dinner we went to Pollo Loco again!!!!! soooo good!!!! It was a great very productive day!!!

Today I went to Meme's Rio. We did outreach and gave out Hot Tamales to the kids before they went off to school. Also today was Meme's birthday, so we all sang Feliz Cumplianos to Her which is Happy Birthday in Spanish! We brought crayons and paper and all the little kids wrote birthday cards to Meme. we brought her a cup cake, cake, and she shoved her nose into it! She is soo great! The ministry that she does for the people at her Rio is soo great, and the love she has for them, and the faith in Christ that she teaches them. The bathrooms we worked on in January are getting farther along but, still unfinished. the funding for alot of the projects have been going down with the economy, so many of the projects have been put on hold. We have high hopes though this summer, and believe that the Lord is using this time to bring us closer to him! He has such an amazing plan for us, and has done soo much for the ministry already. He is truly amazing.

We went to Pollo Loco for Lunch, ohhhhh it was sooo good!!! We came back to the property and did some painting in SMCA. This evening Tim Couch, B2B staff and Hope house parent, took us to Dairy Queen. He told me last year about his connection with B2B but it is always amazing to hear it again. He told some of the other interns tonight, and I just think it is soo cool to hear how God has worked in his life, and for him to put all his trust in God, weather it be his family, the ministry, or the very funds he needs to stay involved. God works in so many ways, and it is inspiring to learn from other peoples stories. It was a great night of fellowship and I thank you God for all the many ways you have blessed me in my Life!!!

Today was my day off. This morning I went to ERJ though. ERJ is a children's home about and hour away from campus. We went there on our first trip with RB. I had not been there in 2 years so I really wanted to see it, and the kids. ERJ also has a ropes course that B2B Built and maintains. All the proceeds from the course go directly to the childrens Home. It is a strategical ropes course, in whch the groups have to really think about how to get through as a team. It is to bring out cooperation and leadership, and challege the groups in working together and working for Christ. at the end there is the leap of faith, where you climb a tree and jump to a trapeese bar a few feet in front of you. Everyone is harnessed in, but it gives you that adrenaline rush, and also allows to put your trust and faith into the situtaion. Ultimatly it is to represent doing something radical in this crazy world, and trusting in God and your faith to get you through it!!!! This morning I went with the group who will be at El Limon this week. The stopped at ERJ to to the Ropes Course, so I tagged along to help the groups on the course. The place is amazing, so much has changed! There is a new Palapa there and the ropes course has some new editions. Juan, B2B staff captain, is building bathrooms near the Ropes course, and adding a camping area for people in Monterrey to come stau for a weekend and camp, and do the course. The hope is to try and encorporate the idea of the course to the people and taech people about Christ. Also the more visitors the more funds for the home! we got back around 4pm, and I jumped in the pool. The ropes course is back in the woos, and has tall grass and bugs, so when ever I go I wear jeans. It was 104 degrees today so I was sweating and the pool felt awesome!!! Vita is cooking tonight so I am very excited!!!! Hope all is well back home, safe travels to everyone headed to Florida this weekend and week!!!! I will miss you, have fun and eat some crab legs for me!!!

Today we did a lot of prep work for the groups. I worked on the lights around the pool area. Most of them were not working, so we replaced all of them with new fixtures. The first group came at 2pm with 40 people. The next group had 25, then 30 and the last group had 60 people. The campus is packed tight this week, which is great! It will be awesome to see the Lord work in soo many hearts!!! The Douglas kids came at 3 for a pool party and dinner!!!! The kids had a blast!!! Vita cooked her famous chicken, mashed potato's and noodles!!!!! sooo good. Tasted Just like yours Victoria!!!!!!! I hung out with little Niko latter tonight. He is the Lail's little boy. They are the newest parents in the Hope Program! They moved inn in January, and they have 2 adopted kids of there own from Columbia. He is such a cutie. I notice he was wearing two different shoes, and I asked him why. He couldnt tell me, he just said that he liked both shoes so he put them on. Hes soo cute!! Tonights worship was great with sooo many people!!

It is going to be a great week!!!

Today the groups left in the morning. we hung out the rest of the day. I had some quiet time to relax and pray. It was good to really pray and connect with God! We had a Brown out today, where the electric will go out for certain periods of time. It was out for a couple hours today. We all played cards and hung out. The interns this summer are all really cool and we all get along. It has been great to really get to know them and walk in my path of Christ with them. Tonight we had our first intern outing. We went to a restaurant, which escapes my mind, but I had a steak potato burrito with cheese. Muy Bien!!!!! We went to wal-mart and stocked up on some drinks and food for the week, then went into the city and did the river walk. It is a man made river that mingles through the city and has cool lights and different water features. You can take a bout ride through which is cool. We didn't we just walked which was neat. It is only about 6 foot deep, but cuts through the city, under brides and through the buildings. There are all kinds of little restaurants on the side, you can eat right next to it. We stopped at an ice cream shop and got some.!! It was A great night to get to know the interns better!! Tomorrow we have 4 groups coming!!! it is going to be a crazy week, but I cant wait. Today's high reached 105. This evening it is 101. Im sweatin!!! haha

Today we did some painting on the property. SMCA is the school that B2B built for there kids, and two teachers raise support and come down to teach the kids on the property. SMCA stands for Sierra Madre Christian Academy. Durring the summer we use the school for dorms, for the groups. These past few months they have been building the second floor on the school for more dorm space and staff housing. A couple of the other interns and I painted thermotec, sealer, on the roof. I am horiffied of heights so getting up and down were chalenging, but the painting went well!!! I forgot to bring my camera up, and I didnt want to climb back up on the ladder haha, so I took a picture of the front of the school for you guys haha. This afternoon, a bunch of kids, and moms come from the Caderayta to swim, and we did a worship service with. We cooked skirt steaks which are really thin cheap steaks, but really good. Kurt Juan and I grilled, and then we cut the steaks into thin pieces. then we put them on tortillas, with salsa , and peppers. I just eat the meat, I am not a pepper person or salsa, but Grandma geiger you would have loved it with the hot peppers haha!!!! Wwe also had the market tonight for the groups. It went really well! I was checking people out, and taking money. Luckily we stick to the 10-1 ratio, so the convertion between US and Pesos wasnt too confusing. The groups head home tommorow and we have our first intern outing tomorrow night!! week 1 went way toooo fast!!!

They had a blast! I got a couple pics of your favorite little buddy liz. I was playing with Alex, who is a year old, and talks nonstop, haha, and we were swinging. his mouth just keeps moving and moving, haha, I always wonder what he is saying. My spanish needs so much work!

He turned around to swing on his belly, and his pants started falling down. I got a couple shots of the butt crack!! haha.

Tonight I had my first meeting with Steve, who works in the office here on campus. He is discipleing me this summer. We went and got ice cream and talked! I have really gotten to know him better these last two trips, and I know it is going to be a great summer getting to know him better, and connecting with Christ with him!

Today we did a concrete pour on the property. Wwe poured at least 3 houses worth of concrete, or at least it seemed like it haha. There is a flat area around the main Building and basket ball court with gravel, and we poured concrete in it to keep people from tripping. In the afternoon we took the Del Norte kids to Plaza Sesemon, Sesame Street. it is a small amusment park and water park. We took the kids swimming. Little Oscar and I hung out today and swam. He fell asleep in my arms on the bus. We went down a couple water water slides and sat in the lazy river! He was soo good, what a cutie! Jaunita rode some of the rides, she is not big swimmer. she had such a blast!!! after we swam we took them to the food court and got them one of the biggest cheeseburgers! Juanita tried shoving the whole thing down in one bite! haha. She was laughing and smiling. such a cutie!! I took a video of her for you today Victoria! She is soo happy!!!!

Today I went to Casa Hogar Douglas, CHD. It was a great and very productive day. The group we took has 31 members so we got a lot of things done through out the day. CHD has a chapel up on the hill, which B2B has been renovating. It looks so amazing. They just finished the new roof, and put up a new stage for preaching and worship. They did a bunch of painting on the interior and exterior. It looks great! I worked on digging holes for new fence post and new clothes lines. I had 9 people helping me. We got sooo much done! There were 2 girls working with us, and they kept making fun of us, because the boys were digging too slow!! haha. We dug 16 holes today, and put up and cemented 10 fence poles. the old fence is falling down and is to short. It is very unsafe for the kids, so the new poles are 8 foot high, and are very sturdy!.

Today I read a couple chapters in the book of Job. Being our theme of shelter this summer, it was interesting to see how Job found true shelter in God. Having lost everything he Loves and owns, Job understands that true shelter in Christ is not found in wealth or possessions. Losing everything, he stood by God even when others told him not to. Most times when things go wrong, we blame God, but praise him when things go well. Job found his shelter in Christ, not in what the Lord provided him.

I often think that the Lord shelters me with my family, or the house that I live in. Although that may be true in many times, Job shows us that true shelter rests in the promises of God.

Today We went to Rayitos de Luz. They are the smallest children home B2B follows. They have around 14 kids. Last year I got to work with them, when they bought the new property. I went home the weekend the kids moved in. But it is soo great to see them running around in there new home. Alot has changed there since last July. There is a new room on the back for laundry and dorm space. Also money was donated to build a new dorm building on the side. They raised the exterior walls up 4 extra feet for safety. We worked on putting up barbed wire around the top perimeter of the wall. It is not a bad neighborhood, but B2B wants to make the safest environment for the kids! Speaking of the kids, it was so great to see them again. My buddy Johnathan was waiting for us, and gave me a big hug. It felt great, and I was soo happy to see him. While we were working he and some of the other boys were playing around. There is a clear hose on the property, so they would put berry's in one end, then turn the water on and watch them flow through the hose. By the way the hose is about 60 feet long haha. It was like one of those marble sets where you build it up then drop the marbles down. They had the hose curling and lifted up on chairs, through the trees. It was funny. The berrys would fly out the end then they would run back and shove them in again. haha. There is also a new baby that was dropped of a few weeks ago, named Montel. He is such a cutie, and a chubster!!! Tonight Vita cooked, chicken and rice! very gooood!!!! After worship we played a little vollyball, I didnt do very well!! haha. Tomorrow I head to Douglas!!!

Today we did an intense intern prep and training. It was good to hear some of the new changes and ideas for the summer. I found out that the childrens home I will be working with all summer is Del Norte. I am soooo excited!!! I will get to see Juanita again!!!! They are coming for a cook out tomorrow as well!! one of the big projects we are gonna try and finish there in the next couple of weeks is the library for the kids. I was so hyped because I brought down all those books, and was wondering were they could be used. It is great that many of them are in spanish as well!! We will also start on the new playground that my family and parents raised support for back durring Christmas! I am soo excited to work on it. Gabo is drawing up his own design and we are going to build off of the exsiting smaller playset. It is going to be great! Tonight we had a cook out with the staff and interns. We grilled salchichas, it is like a hot dog, but a little better. We had worship tonight which was great to. Craig Aven is our worship leader this summer. he is such a great singer and leader! He was here our first time back in June of 2007.
Tomorrow we have 4 groups coming. It is going to be a crazy first group day, but I am looking forward to it! This week and next Gabo will be at El Limon, a childrens home about 6 hours south of Monterrey, so I dont get to work at Del Norte till the third week. But I am happy I get to see the kids tomorrow, and help Gabo plan the designs for the playset!!!! I will be all over this week, which is great, I will get to see a bunch of people I havnt seen since last summer!!

Sorry I havent taken many pictures yet, but I promise to take lots and lots tomorrow!!

Adam

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you make the Most High your dwelling— even the LORD, who is my refuge- then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. "Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."

Packing

I have packed for a week, I have packed for a month, I dont know how I can cram 2 months of stuff into 2 suitcases. haha. I thought packing for school was crazy. It is interesting trying to fit everything, and make sure it all is under 50 pounds. But some how it all worked out haha. I am getting very excited about my flight tom. I am bringing a lot of donations with me, and a lot of books. Scholastic bookstore, hope I spelled that right, had a sale where you could fill a box of books for 20 bucks. So I got 2 boxes worth of books I am lugging down to. very heavy. I am giving some to mom and dad to take to, cause Im already pushing the 50 pound limit. haha.
My flight leaves tom from Cincy at 8:55 am. I fly into Housten, then into Monterrey!!!
Cant wait!!!!!!!!!
