June 8

Today I went to Casa Hogar Douglas, CHD. It was a great and very productive day. The group we took has 31 members so we got a lot of things done through out the day. CHD has a chapel up on the hill, which B2B has been renovating. It looks so amazing. They just finished the new roof, and put up a new stage for preaching and worship. They did a bunch of painting on the interior and exterior. It looks great! I worked on digging holes for new fence post and new clothes lines. I had 9 people helping me. We got sooo much done! There were 2 girls working with us, and they kept making fun of us, because the boys were digging too slow!! haha. We dug 16 holes today, and put up and cemented 10 fence poles. the old fence is falling down and is to short. It is very unsafe for the kids, so the new poles are 8 foot high, and are very sturdy!.

Today I read a couple chapters in the book of Job. Being our theme of shelter this summer, it was interesting to see how Job found true shelter in God. Having lost everything he Loves and owns, Job understands that true shelter in Christ is not found in wealth or possessions. Losing everything, he stood by God even when others told him not to. Most times when things go wrong, we blame God, but praise him when things go well. Job found his shelter in Christ, not in what the Lord provided him.

I often think that the Lord shelters me with my family, or the house that I live in. Although that may be true in many times, Job shows us that true shelter rests in the promises of God.
Adam
"Find rest, O my soul, in God Alone; my hope comes from Him. He is my rock and my salvation, He is my fortress, I will not be shaken"
Psalm 62:5-6
