Today I went back to Meme's Rio, and we fed the kids and people lunch! we made hot dogs for them, and cut up water melon. The kids love the water Melon. We did queit a few projects there today. A couple people from the group worked on digging a trench for the new bathrooms. I worked on a water jug system for the neighborhood. Right now there is one hose of water for 50 houses. the water coming into house 1, Meme's house, has no pressure at all. You can imagine what it is like at house 50, mostly no water. the water doesn't actually hook up to anything, it is just a spiket out in front of there house that they tap into. Today I had a couple of the group members help me out, we made a platform for this big water Jug, kinda like at the Caterayta. and their is two jugs, right now just one, but the top filters into the bottom, so that the bottom is completely clean water. the goal for this system is took hook the bottom jug up to Meme's house and the soup kitchen, and then the top jug to the community. The jug holds 250 gallons of water and we figured that each family uses about 5 gallons a day. The jug system, with a foot of water, gives 10 times more pressure than the hose. The tank is about 5 foot tall. It will be so much better when we get it hooked up. and the meter hose will just connect the big tank and constantly be filling it up. It creates a reservoir for the community, and will fill up completely in just a couple hours!. For dinner we went to Pollo Loco again!!!!! soooo good!!!! It was a great very productive day!!!

Adam,
There is always some kind of major project you are involved in. How lucky the children of Monterrey are to have you. I can't imagine the water situation down there, Lindsay and Victoria complain about the water pressure in the dorms. I have been checking your blog everyday and I am so glad to hear that you are doing so well. Thanks for the updates and the pictures!
Love, Motherbear
